The way forward

A little something now on the spectral phenomena that many actually refer to as Ghosts.

It is commonly accepted that ghosts are the spirits (some religions maintain they are souls - lost or otherwise) of the dead / departed / those that no longer share the World of the living. Is that your belief?

A question then, must arise about the nature of the soul. Are ghosts truly the spirits of the deceased? A faint whisper of the corporeal. A stain on the fabric of time. A remnant of the past.

If so...If so...

Why are these spirits (these ghosts) , these spectres not a true representation of that which many profess they are? The true spirit of the body departed. Why are ghosts so rarely naked? Are they clothed to protect their modesty, or ours..........?

Hmmmmmmm....A jest as we move towards the darkness.

Now more seriously, just what exactly are those that have witnessed such apparitions actually seeing?

Time is ticking away.

How can anyone fail to notice how dark it is in the mornings now. Or how quickly night falls. Doesn't it make you want to stay in bed a little longer in the morning? Does it make you want to retire a little earlier in the evenings?

Ready to hibernate?

What about those who relish this time of year? How many of you actually come alive in the Autumn? Are you one of those who prefer the darkness this time of year brings?

Did you realise you were not alone and that there are very real reasons why you feel invigorated now when the rest of Mother Nature's creatures seem to be on the wane?

It actually makes a lot of sense. Take a moment to think about it. About how this time of year makes you feel. If you want to sleep, go ahead - I wasn't really talking to you anyway...Sleep and if you can, wake in the Spring. If you can. But if you want to become more active now, then think...Think about why you act this way when Autumn falls. Don't think too deeply; just think....

Now consider this : There is nothing in the darkness that you have not already seen.

Time to open your eyes...

Hmmmm...As Samhain approaches I wonder how many out there have ever given any real thought to the eternal question? Yes, there have been some whimsical threads alluding to the metaphysical and they make interesting reading (yawn!) at times. But how many more out there are scratching at the surface of something they know is bigger than they are or could ever be..? How many feel they are actually in touch with something other than the accepted? Ho-hum! In the days counting down to that dark festival of death and rebirth shall we take a moment to consider things as they actually are? A blog then, to all things that defy experience and provide a window to something more than mere flesh...
