More Swimming




Last Wednesday I had a swimming lesson and swam an additional 20 lengths, we were learning how to tilt your head rather than to lift it out of the water when you do the front crawl. I need to focus on my breathing so that I can start to put it all together.

Monday 1 Mile am and believe it or not I might go again after work! I found myself getting up early due to the clocks change so thought that rather watch TV that I should do some swimming.

Monday 1 Mile, and 45 minutes in the Gym Cycling, sit ups, and weights.

 This is the first time that I have used the Gym in a while. Since I started doing all this excersize I have lost a few inches off my waist but have put nearly half a stone on. I am now heavier than I have ever been before but I guess it is muscle where I am toning up. Lots of sit ups to come. My diet still sucks but I am intending to start to focus on that in the very near future.

Wednesday 18th lesson




Tuesday 1 mile (no breaks needed today so I must be getting fitter)

Wednesday (lesson and additional 20 lengths).

Today we focused on using my legs better, at the moment i swim 90% using my arms and only 10% using my legs. It should be a more balanced 60-40. I need to focus on using my legs better either longer kicks doing front crawl and pointing my feet out further while I do the breast stroke. I need to also work on my breathing as I tend to take my whole head out the water when I do the front crawl.  I really enjoy these lessons and it tends to be the little bits that really help so I am pleased with my progress so far!!. Still loosing a bit of weight as well so all in all I am getting fit and having fun!

Monday 16th

1 mile, 30 lengths and a break, then a further 70. Today I took far less breaks than I normally would and I did it far faster than normal so I must be getting fitter.
