OK, so are you ready for this..?

No not really.

But it is interesting to note how many people have claimed to be Jesus Christ. Strangely most people who claim to be Jesus are quickly denounced as being 'mentally ill'. Enter a number of peculiar figures from the 1960's, including one John Lennon.

John Lennon said :

"Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. ... We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first-rock 'n' roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me."

Once upon a time there was a very charismatic man who discovered that the more obscure he became the more people wanted to discover him. He lived in a big castle somewhere in his own head. He dreamed of becoming rich and powerful and having the kind of lifestyle that people like him should only dream about. His plan to get him what he wanted was ingenious and it worked.

Preying upon the weak and feeble-minded, the impressionable and those who were either dazzled by intrigue or drawn like moths to a flame by the trappings of power it was easy to quickly draw to him an ever-growing circle of acolytes and expand upon his pseudo-religious doctrines.

His fame spread quickly and his reputation went before him. Women flocked to him and his sexual excesses with these woman became legendary. He was happy. For a while...

But power needs energy in order to exist and without any further impetus the man realised his power would soon wane and that star he had caused to burn so brightly would very soon burn out and die...

Time to move on and move on he did. The rest, as they say is history. The charismatic man lived very unhappily for the rest of his days whilst all around him people saw only the mystery, the majesty and the power. That's why so many wanted to follow his lead.

That's why so many did.

Hmmmmm.........How well the celebrity allows us to view our little World. All our desires amplified. All our desires.......

Wealth. Sex. Fame. (To name but a few; and of course there are many, many more)

What would you do if you had access to that World? If you could live in that World? Would you want to? What would you say? What could you acheive? What would you want to acheive? What would you expect? Would you feel powerful in the glare of publicity 24 hours a day 7 days a week? Or would you feel powerless?

When you think of such celebrities do you experience any emotions? Envy? Admiration? Anger?

Let us now turn our attention to the stars...
